Wedding Mania, Part II

In between wedding #1 and wedding #2, we got to spend a few days in Hutch. We made sure to eat at our favorite spots and tried to spend as much time with fam as possible. Some highlights included Mya having her first encounter with toads, Anna asking me “why do you have boobies?” (since I don’t have any children), Gavin saying “yep” to answer all questions, and Cooper impressing us, once again, with his incredible athletic abilities.

Then, it was back to KC for wedding #2: Eric (whom I’ve known since the 4th grade) and Erin’s. Frank was a groomsman so this wedding had the added bonus of getting to see my husband in a tux. :) We enjoyed spending more time with hometown friends, delicious food, and quite the dance party.

These are the next two to get hitched so they’re practicing their dance moves for their big day.

The best part of the evening: the random guy in a kilt!

Wedding Mania, Part I

A few weeks ago, we made the long trek to Kansas to attend the weddings of two of our longtime Hutch friends, who each just became M.D.’s and were getting married on back-to-back weekends. First up was Melissa (whom I’ve known since the 7th grade) and Caleb. The wedding was in Lawrence, which we were super excited about since we hadn’t been back to our old stomping grounds for about 4 years. We just wish we could have had more time to visit all our favorite spots.

The beautiful bride!

We got to catch up with a bunch of high school friends, many of whom we hadn’t seen since our wedding.

Of course, when you’re hanging out with your high school buddies, you to tend to revert to your old ways. So, we decided to play one our favorite old lunch table games: daring each other to eat gross stuff! Micah was the first to agree- he downed a 4 oz. jar of honey.

Ryan decided that since he’s going to marry into this gang of friends in a few months, he should do a dare, too: 30 shrimp. You can tell he’s not feeling too hot by the end!

Well, Erin couldn’t be left out since she was marrying into the group the next weekend, but we went a bit easier on her so she wouldn’t be sick the week before her wedding; she had to eat like 10 or 15 chocolate-covered strawberries.

Needless to say I’m grateful I was born into this Hutch group- I don’t know if I could survive the initiation! At least nowadays we have have trained medical professionals on standby. :)

My cousin forwarded me this picture that’s supposively the tornado that went through Manhattan, KS last week. Even if it’s a fraud, it’s an awesome image!
