2008 Walk to Defeat ALS
November 30, 2008 at 10:01 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentLast month, family and friends gathered in Wichita to take part in the Walk to Defeat ALS in honor of my mom, who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease last winter, and in memory of my maternal grandfather, who passed away from the disease in 1980. In this time of giving thanks, I am so grateful for all those who supported our “Team Peggy”, both monetarily and with prayer. We raised an amazing $16,000 to support ALS research and patient support!!
Mya Monday
November 24, 2008 at 9:35 am | In Mya Monday | 1 CommentIt seems like in the past week or two, it has suddenly become winter. Temperatures have been in the teens the past couple of mornings while walking the Schmya. Makes me wish I could curl up in a ball like her.
Frank is finally done with volleyball season; they made it to the NCAA tournament, won their first round game, but lost in the second round in a 5-set heartbreaker of a game. But we’re excited to see a little more of each other and hopefully get to eat dinner together more than once a week. And we might get to have some lunch dates now that I work at the same university.
Something other than dog picts!!
November 19, 2008 at 11:26 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentGiven that Mya has taken over our recent blog posts, I’ve decided to add picts of a b-ball game Emily and I were able to go to…together!! A couple weeks ago, after my v-ball team won their game to claim a share of the conference title, the b-ball teams opened their new arena against the U of L. Although both teams came up on the losing end, the mens game was surprisingly close until late in the second half. Regardless, it was a fun evening and we had great seats! Hopefully we’ll be able to attend more this winter.
