Mysteries and Surprises

One interesting thing about buying a house is that you inherit whatever the heck the previous owner planted in the yard. I’ve been trying to take a rough inventory of what the heck we have going on outdoors, but I must say my poor plant identification skills are very rusty. There definitely are a lot of things I would like to rip out, though…kind of like the rest of the house….I see a pattern and a long to-do list forming!

Over the past two weeks we’ve been seeing little glimpses of green and finally this week- surprise blooms! I love getting to glimpse at these beauties from the kitchen window!

What do you think these are? I’m hoping for tulips! (They’re not actually quite that bright green- I was playing with the camera settings.)

I finally used up all the free storage space on our site, so had to do a bit of purging of our archives and took down the two additional pages we had up. Also, I’m going to take a hiatus from “Mya Mondays”, at least for a while. I’m pretty sure no one, aside from us and maybe a couple of dog-loving relatives, really cares about seeing pictures of our dog that much. Who knows- it may turn into more of a home remodeling/gardening site in the near future! :)

After years of praying, dreaming, and saving, we finally bought a house!! It will need some aesthetic updates (i.e. take out the teal carpet and tear down the wallpaper), but we’re excited to make it our home. Mya is certainly excited to have a big fenced backyard and a spacious home so we aren’t constantly tripping over her anymore. She’s not so sure about the “water feature” in the yard, but I think her smile shows she’s ready to have her own territory! We move in tomorrow so more info later….
