Drills, dust, and dirt!
May 19, 2009 at 1:29 pm | In Uncategorized | 4 CommentsWhat more can a man ask for?? Finally, after many trips to Lowe’s and Home Depot we have finished our bedroom! As you can tell by the before and after photos, it was needed. More impressively, we did it while I was in the middle of my baseball season (which is now over as of this past Saturday). Overall the redo went well for our first attempt. We slapped on new paint, renovated the closet to make it more functional, and changed the lighting fixture.
Mya made sure she stayed in the middle of the action and kept us entertained. And no, the brown spot on the wall is not from her. It’s a color sample that looked good in a magazine, but not so much in real life. Always get a paint sample people!!! It’ll save you down the road.
The past week we have been working outside. I rototilled a garden area in our backyard (easier than I thought) and we planted tomotoes, peppers, onions, garlic, and herbs (emphasis on the “h”). We’ll post those picts when they’ve ripened. Emily’s been busy planting flowers and conspiring how to place her mark on the landscaping. In related news, Mya leaves her mark on the landscaping daily. I opted to leave those picts off the blog.

The Grand Opening of Chateau Shipley
May 11, 2009 at 12:55 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentWe got to host our first house guests last weekend. My sister Heather and family just moved to Tampa and since her husband was already busy working at his new job, my mom was recruited to help Heather move the kids to Florida. But they were able to come stay with us for a couple of days before continuing their long road trip. We enjoyed going to one of Frank’s baseball games, a trip to the zoo, and lots of board game playing. We also celebrated a belated Easter (Frank ended up having to be out of town with baseball that day and I had already bought the ham) on our brand new dining room table (after 3+ years of eating off of tv trays and card tables)!
